PRAYING FOR THE NATION

Recently Pastor Dirk Gieser modeled two great prayers for the nation.

The first link below features the morning prayers at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Castleton-on-Hudson, New York from Sunday, September 20. In his prayer that morning, Pastor Dirk prayed specifically that we will continue to love one another despite political differences.

The second link features the morning prayers from Sunday, September 27. In his prayer that morning, Pastor Dirk prayed that God’s will would be done in this situation according to HIS wisdom.

The Hudson Valley School of Prayer recommends using these prayers as a model to pray our own prayers for our nation.

These prayers resonate with our hearts and we are delighted to share them with you. Below each YouTube video, you will find a transcribed copy of Pastor Dirk’s prayers.

Christ-like love for one another…

Not the will of this candidate or that, but God’s will be done!

Thank you, Pastor Dirk Gieser, for your great example of humility and an open heart to God’s will alone.

Almighty God, only You have eternal power. Any human power is borrowed from You. May all those with authority use it for good and to honor You. — William Tyndale (1494–1536)

O righteous Lord, You love righteousness. May Your Holy Spirit be with our rulers, that they may govern in faith and honor, striving to put down all that is evil and encourage all that is good. Give Your spirit of wisdom to lawmakers. May they grasp the gravity of the work You have given them to do, that they may not do it lightly. May they put away all wrong and oppression and advance the welfare of all people. — Thomas Arnold (1795–1842)
